(Reuters] – Federal Reserve Governor Lael brainard stated Tuesday that although inflation is high and must be controlled, there is some welcome cooling.

Brainard said in an interview that she would be monitoring whether there is continued moderation over the next few months. Brainard was referring to inflation within the core goods category. As fiscal support decreases, and the supply constraint eases, she said that demand will moderate in this year.
