Google’s most important US real estate investments in 2022, mapped

GoogleThere are many real estate developments in the United States, with at least 20 projects receiving investments of almost $10 billion.

A blog postSundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet and Google highlighted the country’s offices and data centres that are currently under construction or will open in 2022. In California alone, it’s working on construction and some housing in the San Francisco Bay Area, including two large office buildings in Mountain View, near its headquarters, and several other office buildings in neighboring cities.

Pichai said that the company expects to hire at least 12,000 more full-time Google employees by the end.

The company estimates that the total cost of investments across the country in data centers, offices, and other infrastructure will be approximately $9.5 million in the U.S. by 2022. That’s up from from $7 billion and 10,000 new jobs it announced last year.

Google is expanding its presence in San Jose as part of their 2022 real-estate projects. approved Google’s plan for a mixed-use mega-campus that spans 80 acres and 7.3 million square feet of office space in the heart of California’s third-largest city. Google offered to donate more than 50% of the campus for public use in an effort to win over critics. $200 million community benefits package that includes displacement funds, job placement training, and power for community leaders to influence how it’s spent.

Google announced Wednesday in a blog post that they have opened a new Portland office. It also stated it plans to open a Data Center in The Dalles in Oregon. It’s also expanding its Kirkland and Seattle campuses in Washington State.

As Wednesday’s blog entry stated, the company is expanding in New York as well as updating its campuses in Cambridge and Pittsburgh. It’s opening a new Atlanta office in Georgia this year and “making progress” on constructing a new office in downtown Austin, Texas, it said.
