WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – President Joe Biden, and Jill, reported their 2021 earnings, which were in line with previous years at a federal income tax rate effective of 24.6%.

Bidens earned $610,702 in federal adjusted gross and paid $154,439 federal income tax. They had $607,336 income in the previous year when Biden ran for President.

Biden’s presidential salary was $378,333. This is slightly less than the $400,000 that he would have earned if he had been elected. Jill Biden made $67,116 as a Northern Virginia Community College teacher.

The White House released a statement saying that the release “enables the president to share a total 24 year history of tax returns with Americans, once more demonstrating his willingness to be transparent with American citizens about the financial affairs of Commander in Chief.”

Biden’s former president Donald Trump refused to release his records, claiming he couldn’t do it while being audited at the Internal Revenue Service. However, the agency stated that he wasn’t obligated to.

One hundred seventy-three percent of the $17,394 donated by the Bidens to 10 charitable organizations, $5,000 going to Beau Biden Foundation. This foundation works to stop child abuse. Beau Biden (the president’s son) died from cancer in 2015.

The White House reported that Kamala Harris, Vice President, and Doug Emhoff had reported federal adjusted gross incomes of $1,655,563. They also paid $523,371 federal income taxes for a federal income tax rate 31.6%. Emhoff left his law firm in 2021. His partnership interest will be paid back over the course of a few years, according to a White House spokesperson.
