TOKYO, Reuters – Japan’s Subaru Corp (OTC) has stopped shipping some of its main models of automobiles due to a sensor failure. The newspaper reported that the paper and other media had been informed of this.
Late Thursday evening reports said that the automaker had discovered the problem in its CB18 engine, which is used in its Forester and Outback models.
The production of these three models will likely be suspended by April. Subaru also is considering recalls, according to reports. According to the Nikkei, shipment will resume mid-June.
Reports indicate that 54,000 of the engines have been sold as of October 2020.
