Venezuelans can now pay for taxi services with cryptocurrencies- This payment option in Venezuela is now available through the delivery app and Yummy Taxi services.
- This service is only available to users in major centers of the country.
The delivery and taxi service application Yummy in Venezuela now accepts payments in cryptocurrency through the Binance Pay platform. It was announced on the Twitter account (NYSE;) of Legal Rocks. This indicated that Binance has joined the Yummy Rides Taxi service.
Vicente Zavarce was then contacted by Yummy CEO to confirm the information. He also provided details on the new service.
“Now you can move around with Crypto on Yummy thanks to our new integration with Binance Pay. Stablecoins for ridesharing Only at Yummy,” Zavarce wrote.
An executive stated that the company would accept only payments using stablecoins, such as USDT (tether), the most widely used digital currency in Venezuela.
Prior to this integration, Yummy Taxi only allowed payments via banking or financial platforms like Mobile Payment, Yappe and Zelle (NASDAQ:).
User requests being addressed
Due to growing demand from users for cryptocurrencies and increased use in Venezuela, Binance now allows you to pay taxi rides using cryptocurrency.
Users can enjoy the new payment option starting April 12th by updating the Yummy App, which already integrates Binance Pay.
You can send and receive cryptocurrency, as well as stablecoins through the platform of the crypto exchange without having to pay commissions. Payments are made by scanning the recipient’s QR code in the app.
According to local cryptonoticias.com, taxi drivers are happy with the integration. They also hope crypto payments will soon be available for other services like deliveries.
However, Yummy CEO said that crypto payments were only for transportation services. Binance Pay is currently not available for other services.
