Github, a major developer platform, has reported that it blocked over a dozen accounts from Russian developers who were associated with sanctioned organizations by the United States government.

Some of Russia’s largest banks, Sberbank and Alfa-Bank were among those sanctioned. Individual developers who have links to sanctioned companies are also included in the list. Many individual accounts without any links or ties were blocked. Researcher Sergey Bobrov reported that his account had been suspended on April 15, and was then restored immediately.
