NSE closed with the index losing 2.01% and the market lost 1.73%.
They were the top performers at the session NTPC Ltd (NS): traded at 163.20 after the close, up 6.01% or 9.25 point. Meanwhile, SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd. (NS.) increased 2.31% (26.50 points) to reach 1,173.40. HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd. was up 1.70% (9.60 points) to 5,74.45 in late trading.
They were also the session’s worst performers Infosys Ltd (NS), fell 7.27% to 1,621.40, or 127.15 Points at the close. Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (NS) fell 4.83%, or 115.00 points, to finish at 2,263.50 HDFC Bank Ltd (NS:) fell 4.74%, or 69.50 point to 1,395.45.
The BSE Sensex 30’s top performers were NTPC Ltd. (BO :), which rose 6.11% at 163.30 and Tata Steel Ltd. (BO :), which was up 1.51% at 1,339.20, and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.. (BO 🙂 who gained 1.37% at close to 7,574.55.

The India National Stock Exchange saw falling stocks surpass advancing stock by 1133-722, 44 ending unchanged, and the Bombay Stock Exchange witnessed 1973 fall and 1429 advance, while 143 closed unchanged.
Shares in NTPC Ltd. rose by 6.01%, or 9.25 to 163.20. Shares of NTPC Ltd. (BO:), rose to 5-year records; increasing 6.11%, or 9.40 to 160.30.
