(Reuters] – A Florida Federal Judge ruled the U.S. Mask Mandate on Public Transportation illegal. The ruling overturns a White House key effort to limit COVID-19’s spread.

Airlines welcomed Monday’s move by declaring that no masks would be required.

ALASKA

“Face masks have been like boarding passes for nearly two years — you couldn’t fly without one. Effective immediately, however, the masks can be removed from both airports and aircraft.

We are happy that many people get to see you smiling faces. However, we also understand the emotions of some. It is possible to travel with a mask, but it’s still possible to be kind and patient.

DELTA

Masks will be available for customers, employees and crew at U.S. airports immediately.

We are happy to announce that the U.S. has lifted its mask mandate to allow global travel, as COVID-19 is now a normal seasonal virus. We appreciate your cooperation in complying to the federal mask mandate, keeping our customers and ourselves safe throughout the pandemic.

UNITED

“Effective immediately, masks are no longer required at United on domestic flights, select international flights (dependent upon the arrival country’s mask requirements) or at U.S. airports.

“While this means that our employees are no longer required to wear a mask – and no longer have to enforce a mask requirement for most of the flying public – they will be able to wear masks if they choose to do so, as the CDC continues to strongly recommend wearing a mask on public transit.”

AIRLINES TO AMERICA (INDUSTRY TRADGE GROUP)

“The high level of immunity and widespread vaccine accessibility in the U.S. coupled with the hospital-grade cabin air on aircraft provide a strong, science-based foundation for passengers to travel with confidence as restrictions are lifted on our nation’s airlines.”

We look forward to welcoming millions more travelers to the skies in summer 2015 to visit loved ones, go to conferences and take vacations.
