Russian bank founder Oleg Tinkov condemns Ukraine war, seeks Putin exit

Sanctioned Russian digital bank founder Oleg TinkovHe blasted Tuesday’s war with Ukraine as “insane”, and asked for Western nations’ support to help Vladimir Putin, Russia’s leader, to “clearly exit the country to save his face” and end this “massacre.”

Tinkov also stated in a passionate Instagram post that 90% of Russians were against the war. The remaining 10% were also “morons” and the Russian army was exposed as “sh—y,” he claimed.

Tinkov said that the Kremlin officials “are shocked” that they and their children won’t travel to the Mediterranean this summer. Tinkov wrote that businessmen were trying to save what little property they have left.

“Of course there are morons drawing Z” — the symbol in Russia for support of the invasion of Ukraine — “but morons in any country [are] 10%.”

Tinkov concluded by writing, “Dear collective West”, please grant Mr. Putin an exit route to stop the massacre and save his face.” Please be rationaler and more humanitarian

Tinkov, who pleaded guilty Oct. 1, to tax fraud in a United States criminal matter. The federal prosecutors stated that Tinkov had made a false return for tax when he gave up his American citizenship.

He agreed as part of his sentence to pay more than $500 millionHe was subject to severe penalties. This penalty exceeded the amount that he wanted to pay the U.S. Treasury for taxes he attempted to avoid when he lost his citizenship.

After being indicted in 2019, Tinkov successfully fought extradition to the U.S.
