TOKYO, Reuters – U.S. Treasury secretary Janet Yellen and her Japanese counterpart Shunichi Suzuki will have a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the Group of 20 gathering of financial leaders in Washington.

This meeting will take place in the latter part of this week. After a sudden decline in the yen, authorities in both countries decided to meet closely last month in order to discuss currency matters.

The prospects of aggressive U.S. Interest Rate hikes, and the Bank of Japan’s determination to keep monetary easing strong have helped to push the yen below the dollar for the 20th time.
