LONDON (Reuters] – Britain increased its trade sanctions against Russia. This included import bans on luxury goods such as caviar, diamonds, and silver. These measures were taken to punish Moscow for the invasion of Ukraine.

The latest sanctions are intended to ban imports from Russia of high-end products such as silver and wood, along with caviar according to Britain’s international trade department.

The tariffs for some Russian and Belarusian products, such as rubber and diamonds, will rise by 35 percent.

Britain’s March 15 trade bans included import bans for some luxury goods as well as additional tariffs that would apply to a variety of Russian products including vodka and fertilisers.

These restrictions are in addition to the 26 additional sanctions that were announced by Russia’s government against Russian military generals who have been responsible for atrocities committed in Ukraine.
