Investing.com — Bed Bath & Beyond Inc (NASDAQ:) stock popped 11% in late Friday trading after The Wall Street Journal reported that the company is seeing buying interest in its Buybuy Baby unit.
A activist investor recently pressured the company to sell it. The Journal reported that the Journal is receiving interest from prospective buyers.
According to reports, the suitors include Cerberus Capital Management (private equity) and Tailwind Acquisition (special purpose acquisition).
According to the report, there’s no way of knowing if interest will lead to a deal.
Bed Bath & Beyond stock closed Friday’s session up 6.85%, putting it up more than 23% in 2022.
