Here’s a look at weapons the U.S. is sending Ukraine

WASHINGTON — From heavy artillery to tactical drones to armored vehicles, the U.S. has provided $3.4 billion in weapons to Ukraine since Russia’s invasion two months ago.
This is the latest package of military aid, worth $800 millions which is the eighth installment of aidAfter eight weeks of fighting, the Russian troops prepare to retake control of Ukraine’s east and southern regions.
Below is a list of the U.S. weapons that have been used in the war on terror.
Drones

The new security package also includes 121 tactical unmanned air systems, known as the “Phoenix Ghost” UAVs.
John Kirby, a Pentagon spokesperson, stated Thursday that drones were developed quickly by the Air Force in response to Ukrainian needs.
The Switchblade unmanned system series has the same capabilities as it, although they have different capabilities. Kirby stated that there are some differences in the capability of the Phoenix Ghosts. However, Kirby was unable to go into further detail.
Aevex Aerospace, Solana Beach (Calif.) manufactured the drones and they are now part of the U.S. Air Force’s arsenal. Kirby stated that U.S. forces will need to teach Ukrainian troops how to use the drones once they arrive in the area. The date of arrival for drones to the region was not given by Kirby.
Also, the U.S. has committed at least 300 Switchblade dronesMade by a U.S.-based company AeroVironment. Two versions of this weapon are available: the Switchblade 300 or 600. There was no way to know which variant the U.S. had sent to Ukraine.
The Switchblade drones are intended to be single-use, or “kamikaze” in nature.
It is specifically designed for small goals. It is small enough to fit into a bag, weighs in at just 5 pounds, has a 10 mile range and can easily be transported around. It can destroy armored vehicles and tanks with the 600 variant. It is approximately 120 pounds in weight and can travel more than 40 mile.
Tactic and armored vehicles

The U.S. committed many armored vehicle to the Ukrainian force, including 200 M113 armored cars and 100 armored multipurpose armored wheeled vehicles.
U.S. Military has allocated 72 combat vehicles to U.S Army, U.S. Marine Corps tactical vehicles. These are used for transporting 155mm Howitzers across the battlefield.

The last two U.S. weapons packages for Ukraine have included a total of 90 howitzer artillery systems. These were the first heavy artillery platforms that have been transferred from U.S. Army stockpiles to Ukrainian troops.
Pentagon confirms that Ukraine’s forces must train alongside U.S. troops in order to operate the howitzers. This week, the Pentagon stated that training was already underway and would be taking place not in Ukraine but elsewhere in the region.
The U.S. also sent 184,000 artillery bullets along with its howitzers.
Missiles, anti-armor system and other Anti-Armor Systems

Javelin anti-armor weapon portables are top of the Ukrainian wish list. The U.S. and defense companies have co-produced nearly 6000 Javelins. Lockheed Martin RaytheonTo the Ukrainian government.
Additionally, nearly 2,000 Stinger anti aircraft missile systems from the United States were sent to Ukraine. There are also 6,000 AT-4 portable anti-armor systems and other laser-guided rockets.
Rafting and aircraft

According to the U.S., at least eleven Mi-17 Russian military helicopters will be dispatched to Afghanistan. They were previously intended to aid the Afghan military fleet prior to the Taliban’s stunning takeover.
Mi-17s can be equipped with rockets or cannons to arm them for close-air support and attack roles.
The U.S. has also deployed 10 of its highly mobile AN/TPQ 36 counter-artillery missile radars. This radar system has the ability to locate mortars, artillery, and rockets in a short distance.
Two RaytheonAN/MPQ 64 Sentinel air-surveillance radars joined the battle in Ukraine. Sentinel is designed to detect and alert air defense weapons of front-line aircraft whenever they see hostile planes, helicopters drones, or missiles.
Munition and firearms

Over 40,000,000 rounds of ammunition for small arms have been shipped from the Pentagon, as well as more than 5,000 rifles.
More than 1 million mortars, grenades and artillery rounds have been donated by the U.S.
Protective equipment
A Company, 2nd Battalion and The Royal Anglian Regiment Soldiers sort and pack 84,000 extra ballistic helmets for the Armed Forces and Emergency Workers in Ukraine. They were shipped from Donnington in England on March 31, 2022.

The Pentagon has provided figures that show the U.S. sent over 30,000 pieces of armor and helmets so far to Ukrainian troops.
Additionally, U.S. troops have been equipped with thermal imagery systems, night vision devices and other types of militarized opticals.
U.S. also includes medical supplies and equipment that aids in fighting evacuations. Hundreds of radiological, nuclear, and chemical protective equipment from the U.S. have been also taken out of U.S. stocks for Ukraine.
