Nio, an electric vehicle startup (NYSE:), has joined a Clean Parks strategic partnership with World Wide Fund for Nature. This will make it the co-sponsor of Clean Parks. NIO launched Clean Parks, an eco-construction project, in December 2021.

Clean Parks is an international ecological co-construction project that NIO started to fulfill the Blue Sky Coming vision. The world’s first open platform created by an auto company for the support of the construction national parks and nature reserve building is Clean Parks.

The agreement states that WWF and NIO will work together to establish a low-carbon, clean energy circulation system for national parks and nature reserve, which would allow clean mobility, sustainable development and launch demonstrative projects.

Lunyan Lu (Chief Representative at WWF China), stated that since China launched the pilot project for national parks in 2015 WWF China has actively participated in the establishment of a nature reserve system with national park as its main body, and in supporting the development of high-quality national parks. Clean Parks begins with co-construction. WWF and NIO will use their respective technological strengths and resources to share solutions and practices for the protection and enhancement of nature reserves, national parks and surrounding communities.

“It is a tremendous honor for WWF and NIO to co-initiate Clean Parks. Together we will build a clean, low-carbon energy circulation network in natural reserves throughout China and around the world. We are working towards a cleaner, more sustainable future. NIO founder William Li said, “We look forward to sharing clean mobility with biodiversity conservation and further raising the public’s awareness on environmental protection.
