Tesla (NASDAQ:), produced 600 vehicles in April after it resumed production. The output rate is steadily rising, according the Shanghai government statement.

Chinese state-owned automobile manufacturer SAIC Motor, (SS:), produced more than 200 vehicles April 19.

As of April, the government reported that over 60% of Shanghai’s major companies (403 firms) had resumed production. The city continues its recovery from the latest coronavirus wave and plans to begin its campaign to achieve “no community spread” on Friday.

The lockdown will continue to apply for the vast majority of residents in the area. According to Shanghai, three times as many severe cases of covid occurred in the space of 24 hours.

Analysts have indicated that Q2 deliveries will be affected by the Shanghai plant shutdown.
