ABUJA, (Reuters) – Police said that a blast occurred in Nigeria’s capital, Taraba, on Friday evening. It happened days after an Islamic State-instigated explosion in a Taraba rural village killed 3 people.
Taraba’s explosions mark the spread Islamist insurgencies, which have dominated Nigeria’s northeast over the past decade.
Yesterday’s explosion took place in Nukkai and Jalingo at 8.15 pm. Tenteen youths aged between 11-18 years old sustained minor injuries and were treated. No one died. “No one has admitted to the act,” Usman Abullahi (a Taraba State police spokesperson) said.
On Tuesday, 3 people died and 19.
