Although the pandemic was not a success, devastating tollOn women’s career, one CEO feels that the rise of remote work offers unique opportunities for women in corporate leadership.

Diane BryantNovaSignal is a Los Angeles-based medical device startup. She serves as the CEO and chairman of NovaSignal. But she’s spent most of career working for some of the best companies in the world – including 32 years at Intel and a year as Google Cloud’s chief operations officer – often as one of few women in the room.

“For decades we’ve debated – as women – how to get a seat at the table, but now, there is no table,” Bryant, 60, tells CNBC Make It. Covid-19 is, in certain respects, leveling the playing field, as the transition to online communication channels lowers the barriers to inclusion.

It is important for women to take advantage of this time to connect with other leaders and to get support. Everyone’s online. Bryant suggests that you arrange a 15-minute call or virtual coffee chat with your boss’s manager or another person at the same level to discuss their careers and ways in which you can position yourself for greater success.

Her comments include, “Meetings are very efficient with everyone on Zoom,” There’s no need to travel or run between conference rooms and buildings.

Bryant advises these four steps in order to maximise the conversations. They are summarized by an acronym called “PEAP”.

1. Vorbereitung

Bryant explains: “Treat this like an interview – think about the current issues the leader is facing and how your skills can help. The purpose of the meeting is to share your past work and discuss ways to increase your impact on the company.

2. Efficiency

Bryant explains: “Send a request to meet by Zoom, and keep the meeting request time short – 15 minutes. You can’t deny anyone 15 minutes, and it is impossible to make a meeting last 30 minutes if everything goes well.

3. Rationale

Bryant explains:Every leader desires to be valued. The leader is there for you to benefit and learn, so be sure to listen. And be sure to follow-through on the advice – no one wants their time wasted.”

4. Positivity
