Tyson Fury suggests he’ll retire once he has retained his WBC heavyweight title, undefeated record and a sixth-round knockout against Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium.

Fury has won 32 of 33 fights and won one. Whyte was stunned by a spectacular right uppercut before 94,000 people in the capital.

He then replied, “I think that is it,” when asked if he was interested in fighting again.

Fury. BT SportParis: I promised Paris, my beautiful wife that Deontay Wilder would fight the last time and that it would be her.

“I received an offer to fight at Wembley. I believed I owed it the fans, as well as to all people in the United Kingdom, that I come here to fight.

“Now that it is all over I need to keep my word.” It might be The Gypsy King’s last curtain and it is a wonderful way to leave!

Frank Warren was Fury’s promoter. BT Sport: He made that decision. He has been on such an emotional high if it’s his last fight.

Fury knocked out Whyte and then flattened him. The referee Mark Lyson was able to wave off the fight, leaving only one round remaining.

But, Whyte showed him respect and said that the Brixton-based champion believes the Brixton boxer would become a world champ one day.

He said: “Dillian Whyte, a fighter and I believe that he will become the world champion. But tonight he met an incredible in the sport, one the most important heavyweights ever.”

He is a man of integrity. He is tough and a game man. He can be as tough as a bull, and has the heart like a lion.

He was not playing with an average heavyweight. He was not playing games with one of the most respected men on Earth.”

Fury said that Whyte was knocked out by the punch and that Lewis would have been proud.
