Coca-Colawill report first quarter earnings prior to the bell Monday
Refinitiv surveyed Wall Street analysts and found that they are anticipating the following:
- Earnings per share: 58 cents expected
- Predicted revenue: $9.83 trillion
Coke announced in February it expects similar earnings growth per share of between 5% – 6% for 2022. Coke also forecasted that profits would be affected by higher commodity prices in the mid-single digits.
Coke issued that forecast in 2000. joined a host of other Western companiesIn suspending Russian business after the Kremlin invasion of Ukraine. Coke claimed that Russia and Ukraine contributed roughly 1%-2% to its total net operating revenue in 2021. So pulling out of Russia would not impact its bottom line.
The war has resulted in higher prices for grain, gasoline, and other commodities. This is adding to the inflation Coke was already experiencing. Investors will closely monitor the situation to determine if consumers continue buying Coke beverages as prices increase.
As consumers consumed more Coke products in public places, last quarter’s company unit volume increased 9%. It is an encouraging sign of the pandemic recovery.
Coke shares have increased 19% in the past 12 months to $283 billion, giving them a market capitalization of $283 billion.
