U.S. Secretary Antony Blinken spoke Monday following a meeting with Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and President Volodymyr Zelinskiy in Kyiv.
After the officials had returned from their meeting in Poland, Blinken said that Russia’s war goals have already failed, and Ukraine has succeeded.
At the time of its first U.S. official visit to Ukraine in two months, the United States announced a gradual return to U.S. diplomatic missions and the appointment of a new Ambassador. Russia refers to its actions against Ukraine as “special operation”.
Cabinet secretaries pledged $713 million in new aid to Zelenskiy and other countries in the area, which has been ravaged by Russia’s incursions.
