Bitcoin is the most well-known and largest cryptocurrency in the world, up 16% since Jan. 24, when it was at $32,950.72.

Ether, the cryptocurrency linked to the blockchain network ethereum, dropped 5.6% to $2837.45 Tuesday. It lost $168.25 over its previous close.
