Carnival’s New CEO Appointee Gets Positive Nod from Stifel -Breaking

Carnival Corporation (NYSE 🙂 stock tumbled 7.5% after Carnival Corporation’s announcement of a new leadership.

Carnival has announced Josh Weinstein, the current chief operations officer, will become the president and CEO of Carnival effective August 1.

Arnold Donald, the current CEO and president of the company, will become Vice-Chair of and a member of Board of Directors.

Donald stated that Josh is an experienced executive and is highly respected throughout the company. He has served in leadership positions, driven strong business results, and played an important part in steering the company through the pandemic. His deep understanding of the industry and operations of business puts Josh in an excellent position to guide our next stage of our company’s growth.

Steven Wieczynski, a Stifel analyst, stated in The Fly, that this transition would help to bring new life to the Carnival story.

As the company attempts to recover from the pandemic, the decision to appoint an interim chief executive is made. 

Weinstein is a 20-year veteran of Carnival Corp. His most recent position over the last two years was to oversee all operational functions, including global maritime and destination, global IT and global auditing.
