Clariant’s investigation into whistleblower allegations that certain staff manipulated financial accounts to meet financial goals in 2020-2021 has been closed. There was no effect on
sales and cash previously reported, it said https://www.clariant.com/en/Corporate/News/2022/04/Clariant-concludes-investigation-with-preliminary-continuing-operations-EBITDA-margin-of-155–for-20 on Wednesday.
It stated that the preliminary and restated 2020 financial statements indicated a continuing operations EBITDA Margin of 15.5%, compared to 15.0% reported previously. However, its preliminary 2021 EBITDA Margin of 16.2% was consistent with prior guidance.
In February, the Swiss Speciality Chemicals Group delayed the publication of 2021 results while investigators investigated the claims.
It plans to publish audited 2021 financial results, which will include a revised 2020 forecast by May 30.
It stated that Clariant’s chief financial officer Stephan Lynen had completed the investigation and decided to resign by July 2022 in order to make a fresh start.
Bill Collins, Engie’s former head of North America, will replace him on July 1, and will become Clariant’s chief financial officer.
