Ford has officially begun production on the Electric Ford F-150 Lightning. Ford increased its production target to 150,000 vehicles per annum with the announcement of the production start. This is in addition to the 40,000 units that Ford previously announced.

However, at the official launch today, Ford’s CEO, Jim Farley, made another small announcement. It is possible that a second electric vehicle will soon be available.

“We’re already pushing dirt down in Blue Oval City in Tennessee for another electric pickup truck that’s different than this one,” Farley said.

Ford spokeswoman said that the next-generation electric vehicle (EV) will be “a new-gen truck and different than F-150 Lightning.”

Farley teased also an “expanded range, which you haven’t yet seen.”

“We intend to challenge Tesla (NASDAQ 🙂 and any other EV manufacturer to make it the number one EV producer in the world. That’s something that no one would have believed just two years ago from us,” Farley said. You will believe what you see in this truck.
