Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

NSE closed with the index declining 0.94% and the decline of the NSE Index falling 0.94%.

These were the best performers of the session Hero MotoCorp Ltd (NS.:) rose 3.85%, or 92.75points to trade at 2,500.00 by the close. Meanwhile, Tata Steel Ltd (NS) increased 1.06%, or 13.10 points, to reach 1,246.70 Asian Paints Late trade saw a 0.62% increase in Ltd. (NS) or 19.35 point to 3,145.00

These were the worst performers of the session. Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS), fell 7.27% to 5,26.45 points, closing at 6,714.10 Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (NS) fell 3.94%, or 607.95 point to close at 14,826.40. Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (NS) dropped 2.85% or 23.45 to 798.60.

Tata Steel Ltd. (BO) rose 1.05% at 1,246.50. Asian Paints Ltd. was up 0.72% at 3,148.00. Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., (BO) gained 0.47% at close at 3,561.30.

Bajaj Finance Ltd. (BO) was the worst performer, dropping 7.24% at 6,716.65 in trade late. Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (BO) lost 3.88% at 14,828.55 while ICICI Bank Ltd. (BO) was at a loss of 2.21% at 737.05 by close.

By 1298 to 535 and 33, declining stocks outnumbered ascending ones at the India National Stock Exchange. 33 was unchanged. On the Bombay Stock Exchange 2118 declined and 1131 advanced while 111 was unchanged.

The was an indicator of implied volatility for Nifty 50 options. It rose 7.39% from 20.60 to 20.60.

The June delivery of Gold Futures was lower by 0.34%, or 6.50, to $1.897.60 per troy ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil rose 0.27 percent or $0.27 in June to reach $101.97 per barrel. The July Brent oil contract rose 0.49 percent or 0.51 in June to trade at $105.12 per barrel.

USD/INR decreased by 0.31% to 75.55 and EUR/INR fell 0.34 to 81.25.

At 102.60, the US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.28%.
