On Wednesday, Kraft Heinz (NASDAQ) announced that the first quarter ended in a better than expected performance.

Kraft Heinz reported earnings per share at $0.6 for revenue $6.05B. Investing.com polled analysts and predicted EPS at $0.5347 for revenue $5.81B.

Kraft Heinz shares rose 17% over the first of the year but are down 5.87% from their 52 week peak of $44.95, which was set on May 24, 2020. They outperform the market, down 20.28% over the same period.

Kraft Heinz joins other Consumer Staples major earnings this month

Kraft Heinz’s report follows an earnings beat by Procter&Gamble on April 20, who reported EPS of $1.33 on revenue of $19.38B, compared to forecasts EPS of $1.29 on revenue of $18.71B.

Coca-Cola beat all expectations Monday, posting a $0.64 EPS on $10.49B in revenue. This compares to the $0.5792 forecasted for revenue of $9.83B and EPS at $0.5792.
