Apple reported earnings per share at $1.52 on revenues of $97.28B. Investing.com polled analysts and predicted an EPS of $1.43 based on revenues of $94.15B.
Apple shares (NASDAQ.) fell 7% over the first week of 2018, but still fell 10.55% off its 52-week peak of $182.94, which was set January 4. They outperform the market, which is down 17.55% since January 4.
Apple shares rose 2.14% after hours trades following the news.

Apple’s earnings report comes after Microsoft beat them on Tuesday. They reported EPS at $2.22 per share on $49.36B in revenue, while forecasts were for EPS at $2.19 on $49.01B.
Taiwan Semiconductor exceeded expectations, posting a first quarter EPS (EPS) of $1.35 for revenue $16.94B. This compares to the $1.27 forecasted on revenue $16.73B.
