China Evergrande targets sales of $152 million in Golden Week holiday -Breaking

HONG KONG (Reuters). The embattled China Evergrande Group aims for sales of 1 Billion Yuan ($152.26 Million) during China’s Golden Week holiday. According to a source with knowledge, the property developer sells apartments nationwide at a discount.

Evergrande is facing $300 billion in debts and has struggled to restart construction work. Evergrande claimed that it had delivered homes to its buyers this month, stating that the building of 95% of its existing projects was now complete.

To encourage holiday sales, Pearl River Delta’s business unit announced in WeChat that it was offering discounts of up to 10,000 apartments from 413 different projects.

Evergrande contracted sales for 2021 totaled 443 billion yuan. That’s 39% lower than in the previous year. The company has discontinued disclosing monthly sales figures since September and did not disclose a 2022 target.

According to the Paper online media, 28 districts units will be responsible for the Golden Week sales targets. Evergrande’s unit is located in Sichuan, southwest province. Its 128 million Yuan total burden.

The first time the Paper reported the target was April 25 to May 4, and this overlaps with Labour Day’s Golden Week, which begins on Saturday.
