Hotel group Accor’s quarterly revenue jumps as travel picks up -Breaking

(Reuters) – Europe’s largest hotel group Accessor (EPA: ) On Thursday, the EPA reported a surge in revenue for the first quarter as travel recovers slowly from the pandemic.

Sebastien Bazin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Acor said that the company’s first quarter 2022 performance “confirms the clear upturn and momentum in tourism and food services as well as entertainment.”

This group includes high-end brands like Sofitel, Pullman and Ibis. Its revenue for the period January-March was 701 million euro ($737.10million), up 85% from 361 millions euros last year.

Although RevPAR, a critical indicator of the performance of the hotel industry and more than twice as high in the quarter that ended in 2022, it was down 25% from pre-COVID levels.
