Chile’s Codelco reports Q1 pre-tax profit of $1.521 billion -Breaking

REUTERS/Ivan Alvarado(Reuters) – Codelco, a Chilean producer, reported Friday a $1.521 billion pre-tax profit for the first quarter. This is 7% less than last year.
Quarterly production by the state-owned firm was 364,000 tonnes. This is a decrease of 6% compared to a year earlier. The direct cost of production rose from $132 to $152 per pound the previous year.
