AMSTERDAM (Reuters), – Dutch airline KLM has cancelled dozens more flights between Amsterdam and its home country to make it easier for employees, ANP news agency reported.

KLM’s Schiphol Airport ground staff went on strike last Saturday in protest of higher wages and improved working conditions. This caused delays, cancellations, and chaos at Europe’s third-busiest airport.

A spokesperson from Air France-KLM’s Dutch division stated that ANP flights had been cancelled in order to ease pressure on workers.

KLM was not available for comment immediately.

Schiphol requested airlines that they consider cancelling flights on Thursday because it was concerned about its terminals becoming overcrowding again in the coming weekend.

ANP reported that KLM had been scheduled to make a decision on this request on Friday.
