Earnings, Prosus lift European stocks at end of choppy April -Breaking

REUTERS/Staff(Reuters) – European shares rose Friday after strong earnings reports, a rally of mining and technology stock rallies, boosting risk appetite in the final month that was dominated by worries about global slowing growth.
By 0711 GMT, the pan-European index had increased 0.8%. This trimmed its monthly falls to 1.1%.
To lead sectoral gains in miners, 1.9% of the gain was recorded by technology stocks. This followed a rise in U.S. peer stock overnight. [.N]
Prosus (OTC) NV is a Dutch technology investor. It holds a large stake in Tencent in China.
Novo Nordisk, a Danish company (NYSE:), gained 5.4% as it raised its operating profit outlook and sales for the year. Saint-Gobain, a French building materials manufacturer rose 3.7% following record-breaking first-quarter sales.
BE Semiconductor, the Dutch manufacturer of chipmaking equipment slumped 6.2% when it stated that its 2022 order intake was limited due to low demand for smartphones high-end and weakening Chinese markets.
Eurozone Consumer Prices Data for April and the First Quarter GDP Growth readings are due later today.
