Flipkart India, an Indian ecommerce marketplace, has announced that it will launch its innovative labs to explore web 3.0.

The company stated that Flipkart’s labs will use Web 3.0, metaverse and real-world cases to test technology-based applications. This is to help create e-commerce solutions to improve user experience while redefining e-commerce.

Jeyandran Venugopal is the chief product officer and technology officer at Flipkart.

Flipkart was a leader in India’s e-commerce revolution and is now an integral part in our everyday lives. Many innovative innovations over the past decade have made this possible, including cash on delivery (CoD), simple returns, zero-cost EMI and other.

Venugopal stated that the company will operate at the intersection between technology and business to ensure customers receive real innovation.

Flipkart Labs also stated that it plans to increase its internal innovation capabilities, forming a dedicated and entrepreneurial staff and is looking forward for bright and curious people to join them on this journey.

Meanwhile, Naren Ravula, Flipkart Labs’ VP and head and product strategy and deployment, explained that some use cases involving immersive commerce and NFTs are very promising. Ravula said that Flipkart Labs plans to work with the Web3 community and innovate in order to set the benchmark for commerce within the metaverse.

Ravula said that Ravula believes these days are early in the transition from Web2.0 and Web3.0. Ravula explained that the Web2.0 evolution will see a significant impact on many areas of life, including ecommerce. It is based upon decentralization and openness.
