LONDON, (Reuters) – Mercedes-Benz will be looking into energy options in case Russia reduces gas delivery and has been working closely with German authorities for energy supply security, its top executive announced on Friday.

“Every company looks at options to diversify energy sources,” Ola Kaellenius, Chief Executive of the Company, told Reuters TV before the annual general meeting.

Although it is not yet clear what scenario may unfold, we have been carefully examining the possibilities.

Russia’s Gazprom, (MCX) has shut off supplies of gas to Poland and Bulgaria for the week. They also have threatened to do it to other countries. The move is part of a retaliation against Western sanctions for Moscow’s invasion in Ukraine.
