According to Reuters, Paris’ public transport operator RATP temporarily stopped the use of 149 electric busses made by Bollore (EPA: Bluebus) after the two vehicles were set on fire.

Bollore was requested by the RATP to provide a detailed report on the incident. The statement came from Bollore’s state-owned transport firm.

One of the electric buses set ablaze near Paris’ national library on Friday. The RATP issued a statement stating that the incident was accidental and no passengers were hurt.

“The bus driver immediately evacuated all the passengers. Nobody was hurt,” RATP said, while the city fire service said the blaze was put out by around 30 firefighters.

RATP announced that it had taken the decision to temporarily pull the 149 electric buses from service because of the fact that there was a second incident on an electric bus in the Bollore 5SE series within a short time.
