Investing.com – Expedia (NASDAQ:) Monday’s first quarter report showed revenue which was consistent with analysts’ expectations and beat forecasts by NASDAQ.

Expedia posted earnings per share in the range of $-0.47 to $2.25 billion. Investing.com polled analyst to predict EPS of $0.4755 on revenues of $2.25B.

Expedia shares have fallen 3.27% since the start of the year. However, they are still 19.71% below their 52-week high of $217.72 on February 16. They outperform the Nasdaq, which has fallen 19.87% over the same period.

Expedia shares fell 0.47% after hours trades following the report.

Expedia joins other top Consumer Discretionary Sector earnings this month

Expedia reports on the loss of Amazon.com’s earnings on Thursday. They reported an EPS report of $-7.56 for $116.44B in revenue. Forecasts were for EPS to be $8.35, but Expedia had previously reported an EPS report of $8.35.

Tesla beat all expectations with its first quarter earnings per share of $3.22 for $18.76B in revenue, as compared to the $2.26 forecasted on $17.87B.
