The special grand juryThat will assist in investigating former President Donald TrumpMonday is the expected day for possible criminal meddling during Georgia’s 2020 presidential elections.

Trump faces the most serious threat to his criminal case with the probe involving the grand jury, set for Atlanta.

While the President is still in office, we are waiting for Congress confirmation. Joe BidenTrump’s win in the Electoral College, Trump called Brad Raffensperger, Georgia Secretary of State, Jan. 2, 2021 to ask him to find enough votes for Biden to lose that state.

The criminal investigation is looking into that call and other contacts with Georgia’s state attorney general as well as top federal prosecutor in Georgia. Fulton County District attorney Fani Wilis oversees the investigation.

The Fulton County Courthouse, downtown Atlanta was the venue for grand jury selection.

The selection process saw 200 possible grand jurors called in. There will be 23 jurors from that group and three alternates. The panel may meet up to one (1) year.

Although the grand jury has the authority to subpoena witness testimony or to get evidence, it will not be taking any testimony for at least one month. It will be a time lag that allows jurors to organize their schedules, and then wait until May 24, when the primary is in the state. Raffensperger and potential witnesses will also be on the ballot.

Although the panel cannot issue indictments, it can recommend to Willis regarding criminal prosecutions.

According to reports, a second grand jury in New York State Court in Manhattan that was looking into Trump’s possible criminal conduct in business, was permitted to expire without issuing any charges. Even though a former prosecutor from that investigation claimed there were evidence that Trump was guilty, the grandy jury ended.

The Manhattan District Attorney’s office has saidIt continues to investigate Trump and suggests that other grand juries might be called in for testimony regarding him or the Trump Organization.

The resignations of two former prosecutors and the decision of another prosecutor to withdraw from active involvement have reduced the likelihood of Trump being charged with criminal offenses.

Georgia Judge Willis granted Willis’ Jan. request for a grand jury to investigate Trump. Willis claimed she received “information indicating a reasonable likelihood” that Trump was involved in the 2020 elections.

Willis stated that the information contained reports that “associated with these disturbances” had reached out to the secretary of the state, the attorney general and the United States Attorney in the Northern District of Georgia.

Trump’s allies and the contacts formed part of an effort to reverse Biden’s wins in popular votes in swing states like Georgia. Those states provided Trump with a margin of victory in Electoral College. This is the group that determines who wins the U.S. presidential election.

Trump stated that “all I want is this: I just need to find 11,780 voters.” Raffensperger heard Trump say in January 2021. The incident occurred four days prior to a riot of Trump supporters disrupted a joint session Congress, which was meeting in order to certify Biden’s Electoral College victory.

Raffensperger indicated to Willis’ office that he will not be participating in an interview of criminal investigators unless he’s subpoenaed. In January, the DA wrote a Judge.

Trump stated that Raffensperger’s call was perfect and perhaps more than his with President of Ukraine, if it is possible.

In a 2019 phone call, Trump urged Volodymyr Zelenskyy to investigate Hunter Biden and Biden. This call took place as Biden was considered the favourite to win 2020 Democratic Party presidential nomination.

Trump had withheld military aid approved by Congress from Ukraine during the telephone call. He was impeached in the House of Representatives for the phone call. However, he was found not guilty by the Senate.
