Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The index dropped 0.15% at the NSE close.

They were the top performers at the session IndusInd Bank Ltd., which rose by 4.04% (or 39.55 points) to trade at 1,018.10 as of the closing. Meanwhile, Coal India Ltd (NS.:) gained 2.63% (or 4.80 points) to finish at 187.65. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (NS.:) was up 2.1% (4.80 points) to 232.55 in the late trade.

These were the worst performers of the session. Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Ltd., which lost 3.36% (or 149.60) to close at 4,304.75 Eicher Motors Ltd. (NS) fell 2.96%, or 77.85 point to close at 2,552.50. Titan Company Ltd. (NS) dropped 2.91%, or 71.65 to 2,386.55.

IndusInd Bank Ltd., which rose 4.17% at 1,019.00, NTPC Ltd. (BO) which increased 2.54% at 157.50, and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (BO) who gained 2.20% at 232.60.

Titan Company Ltd.(BO:), which fell 2.95% to 2,386.60 late trade, Wipro Ltd.(BO:), which dropped 2.74% to settle in 495.05, and Tech Mahindra Ltd. (“BO:”) which declined 2.01% to 1,231.30 by the close.

On the India National Stock Exchange, falling stocks outnumbered those that advanced by 1260, 585, and 52 respectively. The Bombay Stock Exchange saw 2152 fall and 1205 advance, and 179 remain unchanged.

The implied volatility index of Nifty 50 options was up by 4.47% to 20,28.

The June delivery of Gold Futures was down by 1.70%, or 32.55, to $1.879.15 per troy ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, which fell by 3.05 or 2.91% to reach $101.64/barrel, and the July Brent Oil contract, which fell 2.45% or 2.57, to trade at $104.57/barrel.

USD/INR declined 0.03% at 76.50 while EUR/INR dropped 0.19% at 80.50.

At 103.39, the US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.42%.
