(Reuters) – Oklahoma’s Governor Kevin Stitt has signed a bill that prohibits abortion after six weeks. This ban effectively makes abortions illegal in Oklahoma.
After six weeks, the Republican-led legislature passed the law. It allows private citizens to sue abortion providers and anyone else who aids or assists in an abortion. This law was modeled on a Texas law which has remained in good standing since September when it went into effect.
