WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – The U.S. Senate’s top Republican said Tuesday that he would maintain the filibuster rules of the chamber “at all cost” if he was the leader in the majority.

When asked by reporters about the matter, Senator Minority Leader Mitch McConnell stated that “Absolutely”

Democrats tried to change the rules to pass legislation with a simple majority. Some have again called for filibuster amendments to allow the party to codify the rights to abortion.
