WASHINGTON (Reuters] – The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended Tuesday that travelers continue to use masks at airports, train stations and on flights despite an April 18 judge declaring illegal the fourteen-month-old transport mask rule.
Although the Justice Department submitted notice last month that it will appeal this ruling, the government still hasn’t made an effort to immediately reinstate the mandate. Unless the CDC applied for a new extension, Tuesday May 3 at 11:59 p.m. was when mandate expires.
