(Reuters) – Cisco Systems Inc (NASDAQ) unveiled Wednesday a new technology it claims can detect issues in enterprise networks and prevent them from happening.

This predictive software engine collects data from multiple sources throughout a company’s network to identify patterns. It then helps engineers detect hardware and bandwidth issues and make app configuration adjustments before they create problems.

According to Chuck Robbins, Cisco chief executive officer and CEO Chuck Robbins, “A dedicated group of around 30 people has been working on it over the past two years.” Over the next few decades, we will be applying this technology to many products and services.”

Cisco is a company that sells a wide range of network equipment and software for connecting devices to the Internet. The technology has been evaluated with around 15 clients, including Phillips 66, Schneider Electric, and EPA:

Robbins stated that traditional technologies are able to detect problems and respond only when they occur. However, networks will be able to predict and implement changes in a proactive manner, which will improve the user’s experience.

Cisco Live will announce the initial integrations and offerings of the product during its June networking conference.
