According to Los Angeles Police Department, Dave Chappelle, a comedian from the United States was attacked during his live show at Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

According to police, a man was seen jumping onto Chappelle’s stage as he tried to leave the stage. At that point, security personnel intervened to arrest the suspect.

He sustained “superficial injuries” during his detention. He was treated at the hospital and released.

LAPD stated that the man was equipped with a replica firearm which can eject a knife blade when it is discharged.

According to the LAPD, Chappelle wasn’t hurt in the attack.

The comic, aged 48, faced protests and sharp criticism last year after “The Closer,” his Netflix series was accused of being transphobic.
