India stock prices lower after close of trade. Nifty 50 is down 2.29%Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
The index fell by 2.29% at the NSE close, and the market closed lower.
Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd., which gained 3.77% (or 5.90 points) to trade at 162.25 by the closing of session, were the top performers. Meanwhile, Britannia Industries Ltd (NS) gained 3.49%, or 114.15 point to close at 3,385.45. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd was up 2.61% (or 6.05 points) to 237.60 late trade.
These were the worst performers of the session. Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Ltd.(NS:) fell 6.77%, or 291.45 point to trade at 4,013.30 by the close. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. declined 5.11% (or 43.75) to trade at 8,12.80. Hindalco Industries Ltd. (NS.:) dropped 4.70% to 461.65, or 22.75 points.
Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (BO) rose 2.75% at 237.60. NTPC Ltd. (BO) was up 0.73% at 158.65. Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.. (BO) gained 0.07% at close at 1,775.00.
Bajaj Finance Ltd.(BO:), which fell 4.29% to 6,340.90 late trade, Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (“BO:”) which lost 4.18% to settle at 14,325.40, and Titan Company Ltd. (“BO:”) which dropped 4.11% towards 2,288.40 by the close.
On the India National Stock Exchange, falling stocks outnumbered those that advanced by 317 to 1525, and 28 ended unchanged. The Bombay Stock Exchange had 2463 fall and 801 advance, and 98 ended unchanged.
Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. shares rose by 2.61%, or 6.05 to 237.30. The shares in Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (BO:), rose by 2.75%, or 6.35 to 239.60.
The implied volatility index of Nifty 50 options was at 21.88, a new one-month high.
For June delivery, Gold Futures fell 0.04% to $1869.79 an ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil rose 3.99%, or 4.09, to $106.50 per barrel. The July Brent oil contract rose 4.14, or 3.94%, to $109.11 per barrel.
USD/INR declined 0.09% at 76.38 while EUR/INR dropped 0.06% at 80.39.
US Dollar Index Futures were down 0.6% at 103.43.
