WASHINGTON (Reuters] – The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (OTC) proposed that Frontier Communications (OTC) back its speed claims in a Thursday order. They accused the company of charging too high a price for slow service.

According to the agency the U.S. District Court in the Central District of California filed the proposal final order which it approved 4-1. The request from Reuters for comments was not answered by the company immediately.

Samuel Levine from the FTC Bureau of Consumer Protection stated that Frontier had “lied about its speed and deceived customers by charging high prices for slow service.”

Frontier must support its claims of high speed today’s order. Frontier offers customers who have been lured into its lies easy and free ways to end their slow service.

FTC claimed that Frontier did not provide consumers with maximum speed and the speeds received were often lower than what they had been promised in their plans.
