CDC investigating severe hepatitis in children

According to Friday’s announcement by the public health agency, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are currently investigating 109 cases, five of which were fatal, due to severe liver disease.
According to the CDC, ninety percent were admitted and one in four required liver transplants. The CDC reported that more than half of these children had evidence of an adenovirus-related infection. Public health officials stated that they are not yet certain if the cause is adenovirus.
