India stocks lower at close of trade; Nifty 50 down 1.63% -Breaking

Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

NSE closed with the index losing 1.56% and the NSE fell by 1.63%.

These were the best performers of the session Hero MotoCorp Ltd (NS;) rose by 2.47% to 2,563.35, or 61.70 Points at the close. Meanwhile, Tech Mahindra Ltd (NS) gained 2.17%, or 27.40 point to close at 1,290.75. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd was up 1.99% or 4.65 to 238.40 late trade.

They were also the worst performers of the session. Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS), fell 4.90% to 309.15 points, closing at 6,000.30. Divi’s Laboratories Ltd., (NS:), declined 4.58% to 4,165.85 at the close. Shree Cements Limited. (NS): The decline in Ltd. was 4.44%, or 1115.00 points to 23,973.65.

Tech Mahindra Ltd. (BO) rose 2.21% at 1,291.50. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (BO) was up 1.88% at 238.25. ITC Ltd. (BO) gained 1.83% at close at 266.75.

Bajaj Finance Ltd. (BO) was the worst performer, falling 4.91% at 6,000.95 in late trading. AXIS Bank Ltd. was also down at 4.11% and settled at 673.20. Bajaj Finserv Ltd. was at 3.49% at 13,643.50 by close.

On the India National Stock Exchange, falling stocks outnumbered those that advanced by 1481 to 347. 28 was unchanged. The Bombay Stock Exchange had 2427 decline and 818 rise, with 105 remaining unchanged.

The shares of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (NS:), rose to new highs, up 1.99% or from 4.65 to 239.40. The shares in Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (BO:), rose to new highs, up 1.88% and 4.40 to 239.25.

The implied volatility index of Nifty 50 options was up by 4.72% to 21,25

For June delivery, Gold Futures rose 0.39% to $1883.05 per troy an ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil rose 2.2%, or 2.40, to $110.66 per barrel. The July Brent oil contract, however, rose 2.5%, or 2.49, to $113.39 per barrel.

USD/INR gained 0.46% at 76.86 while EUR/INR gained 0.94% at 81.38.

At 103.30, the US Dollar Index Futures fell 0.48%.
