Own solid names and have cash for market bounce

CNBC’s Jim Cramer said Friday that enduring the current market is a waiting game for a rally – and investors need to be prepared for when that happens.

Your portfolio should consist of some cash as well as stocks that are able to thrive during a recession. … You need to accept the fact that we’re simply trying to stay in the game until times get better,” the “Mad Money” 

He added, “But it’ll all be worth it when we get to the promised land because then stocks will come roaring back.”

On Friday, the market ended a turbulent week of trading. The market rose on Wednesday following the announcement. Federal ReserveAfter raising interest rates 50 basis points at the meeting of the board, the gains were wiped out by losses suffered on Friday and Thursday.

Cramer stated that he would be closely watching the release of the April consumer price index next week. He said that if the CPI figures are lower, then it could lead to a rally in the markets.

Cramer also showed the earnings schedule for next week. FactSet provides all revenue and earnings estimates.

Monday: Tyson Foods and BioNTech

Tyson Foods

  • Earnings release for Q2 2022 before the open. Conference call at 9:00 a.m. ET
  • Projectioned Earnings Per Share: $1.89
  • Estimated Revenue: $12.84 trillion

Cramer indicated that he is looking forward to any information regarding a decrease in food costs.

BioNTech

  • Before the open, Q1 2022 earnings releases; conference call at 8:30 a.m. ET
  • Projected earnings: $9.65
  • Revenue projections: 4.57 billion

Cramer stated that any information regarding China’s Covid vaccine plans could be useful.

Tuesday: Roblox, RealReal, Peloton

Peloton

  • Earnings release for Q3 2022 before the bell. Conference call at 8:30 AM. ET
  • Expected Loss: 84 Cents Per Share
  • Projectioned Revenue: $969 Million

“I bet we’ll eventually see some sort of ‘WeCrashed’-like TV series about Peloton — if not ‘The Dropout’ — and I wonder who’s going to write the screenplay first,” Cramer said, referring to the television dramas detailing scandals at WeWorkTheranos and Theranos respectively.

Roblox

  • After the close, Q1 2022 earnings releases; conference call Wednesday morning at 8:30 AM. ET
  • Expected Loss: 23 cents per Share
  • Sales projections: $659 Million

  • Expected Loss: 54c per Share

Cramer stated that he does not understand the reason for the stock’s decline.

Wednesday: Wendy’s, Rivian

Wendy’s

  • Q1 2022 prior to the open. Conference call at 8:30 a.m. ET
  • Projected Earnings Per Share (EPS): 18 Cents
  • Projectioned Revenue: $497 millions

Cramer indicated that he would be interested in learning if there are staffing difficulties at the company’s restaurants, like in other industries.

Rivian 

  • After the close, Q1 2022 earnings releases; conference call at 5:15 p.m. ET
  • Loss projected: $0.41 per share
  • Projectioned revenue of $133million

Cramer indicated that he wanted to find out whether Rivian would allow it. FordThe company will be selling its shares in the maker of electric vehicles.

Thursday Toast, Poshmark

Toast 

  • After the close, Q1 2022 earnings releases; conference call at 5:15 p.m. ET
  • Projection of loss: Loss of 13 Cents per Share
  • Projectioned Revenue: $487million

Cramer stated that he was “anti-Toast”, as there are too many people in the restaurant point of-sale space.

Poshmark 

  • Earnings release Q1 2022 after the close. Conference call at 4:45 PM. ET
  • Projection of loss: Loss of 25c per share
  • Projectioned Revenue: $87.6 Million

Cramer indicated that he would tune in to find out more information about the company. Cramer claimed it hurt investors who had bought stock.
