WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – Two men pleaded guilty to their role in beating Michael Fanone, a former Metropolitan Police officer. Fanone was electrocuted and beat with a taser by throngs former President Donald Trump supporters during the Jan 2021 riot at Washington’s U.S Capitol.

Albuquerque Cosper Head (42), pleaded guilty to the charge of assaulting or preventing a police officer. He admitted that he pulled Fanone into his crowd during the hearing.

“Did your use riot shields in strike against police officers or to push back on them?” Berman Jackson posed the question.

Head answered, “Yes,”

Kyle Young, another defendant, pleaded guilty in an additional court proceeding before the judge to assaulting or preventing a police officer.

Since Jan. 6, more than 800 individuals have been indicted. A failed attempt by Congress to stop President Joe Biden from being able to certify his election in 2021.

Around 140 police officers were attacked during the riot. Fanone was the highest-profile case.

Fanone gave testimony about his assault during an emotional hearing in Congress last summer.

I heard some people shouting, “Get his gun! Kill him with your own gun!” Fanone explained to lawmakers that Fanone was aware of the risk and was able to identify my danger of being killed or stripped of my gun.

“I was electrocuted yet again with a Taser, and then again.” Although I am certain I was screaming, I doubt I could hear my voice.

Four people were charged with assaulting Fanone. The cases of the government against Thomas Sibick (and Daniel Rodriguez) are still being argued.

The FBI has a wanted page that lists at least two additional suspects involved in the Fanone assassination.

Fanone sent Reuters a statement in which he stated that he was looking forward to seeing each fucker in court as they were sentenced.
