Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz was admitted on Saturday to a hospital in Red Sea City, Jeddah, to undergo tests. The state-run Saudi Press Agency reported this on Sunday, citing an official statement by the royal court.

The statement stated that he is currently undergoing tests at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital. It did not give any other information.

After spending over 2-1/2 years serving as deputy premier and crown prince, King Salman was made the head of the largest oil exporter worldwide in 2015.

King 86 underwent gallbladder and heart surgery in 2020. The battery for his pacemaker was also replaced in March.
